Containers made from tree bark existed long before plastic bags, cardboard boxes, and canvas haversacks came about. In this workshop, you will use your hands and a few tools to harvest tree bark and craft a traditional Appalachian berry basket. If time permits, we will explore other containers which can be made from the same tree.
Each student will get to take home their functional bark container by the end of class.
